Donate Toys To The Italian Home For Children For Children In Need


Filippo Ristorante in Boston is hosting a toy drive in honor of Mark F. Frattaroli. If you are interested in donating, you can drop off new and unwrapped toys for boys and girls ages 4-14. The toy must be dropped off by December 17, 2015. Vicki Vasilopoulos’ Film “Men Of The Cloth” To Premiere At MFA


Director Vicki Vasilopoulos will be premiering her long-awaited film, “Men of the Cloth.” The film will be premiering at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, MA, on Thursday, December 10,2015. Vasilopoulos will be hosting a Q & A alongside local tailor Joe Caulautti of Rizzo Tailor in Harvard Square. The film has been 10 years in the making and has received a positive response from the Italian-American community. Boston Globe Magazine Names Davio’s Steakhouse Best Place To Work In 2015


On November 13, 2015, Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse was named “One of the Top Places to Work” in Massachusetts in Boston Globe Magazine’s 8th annual employee survey. It received the 11th rank in the Large-Company category. Steve DiFillippo, owner, believes that “our philosophy was to always take care of everyone in the company.”

North End Documentary Seeking Contributions

The North End Historical Society is looking for support to make a documentary on Italian-Americans in the North End in Boston, MA. The North End has been home to Italian-American community for over 100 years. The film will be narrated by North End native Stephen Passacantilli. The film is based on interviews with North End natives and their descendents living in the Boston-area. “It will preserve a way of life that has all but disappeared from Boston.” If you are interested in donating, you can visit their website.

Coro-Dante Will Be Hosting Two Holiday Concerts In December

In December, Coro-Dante will be hosting two holiday concerts featuring Italian Christmas carols. The first will be taking place at Sacred Heart Church in East Boston on December 6. The second will be at The Dante Aligheri Society on December 13. Both events will feature Italian Christmas carols and soloists performing choruses from Antonio Cartellieri’s “La Celebra Navita del Redentore.” Both events are free and open to the public.

Fundraiser Concert Will Be Held At Dante Aligheri

Italian singer Giada Valenti will be featured in her own special on PBS. The show is titled “From Venice With Love.” The special will air in December.  Valenti speaks and sings in five different languages. She sings mainly love songs. The date in December has not yet been specified.

The owner of Salvatore’s Restaurants, Sal Lupoli, has taken a bold move by selling his businesses to a group of employees. He made such a move because he wanted to enrich his employees’ lives. He is very happy about his decision and knows that Executive VP, Peter Ackman, will take great care of the locations. Lupoli will still own his chain of Sal’s Pizzas.

Kendall Square Theatre To Show Oscilloscope’s ‘The Wonders’

 The Kendall Square Theatre in Cambridge, MA will be showing Oscilloscope’s “The Wonders” on November 6, 2015.  “The Wonders” is the winner of the Grand Prix at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival and also stood out at the New York Film Festival. The film takes place in the countryside of Tuscany and centers on a family of beekeepers living in complete isolation. A reality TV show would like to feature the family as their protagonists, and include a troubled teenage boy the family took in.
