“Leaves Of The Tree” Movie To Play At Cambridge Film Festival


Ante Novakic’s debut film, “Leaves of the Tree,” will be playing at the Brattle Street Theater in Cambridge, MA. The showing will occur on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 12:15 PM. The film is being featured in the Massachusetts Independent Film Festival. The film is about a a man with heart disease, who travels to Sicily looking for a “mystical tree that supposedly has healing powers.” It features Eric Roberts, Amand Assante, Sean Young, and Federico Castelluccio. Local poet Walter Valeri joins Poets’ Theatre in Cambridge


Local poet Walter Valeri recently became the first and only Italian to be elected to the Poets’ Theatre advisory board. Through this prestigious organization based in Cambridge, Valeri will be working on bringing a Dario Fo Festival to the area in 2016, on the occasion of Fo’s 90th birthday and the 30th anniversary of Fo’ and Franca Rame’s groundbreaking visit to the United States. In January, Valeri performed and recited poems by Giacomo Leopardi during the Poets’ Theatre’s “The Word Exchange” — a multi-linguistic and multi-cultural event held at Suffolk University’s Modern Theatre.
