The Bicentennial quilt titled “Stitched in Time: Historic North End Memories” will be on display at the North Bennett Street School (150 North St., Boston) open house: Friday Nov. 14 and Saturday Nov. 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The quilt was created between 1976 and 1977 by a group of 32 Italian-American women from Boston’s historic Italian neighborhood, under the supervision of Frances Hutchins of the then-Waterfront Arts Council. Measuring 12 ft. by 12 ft., the project was funded by a 1976 National Endowment for the Arts grant, through the Old North Church.
