The Regina Margherita di Savoia Mixed Lodge #1094 of the Order Sons of Italy in America will again host an Italian Festa on the Waltham Common on Saturday, June 4, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; rain date is Sunday, June 5. In addition to showcasing Italian heritage, the Festa subsidizes the Lodge’s
Scholarship Fund from which annual awards are presented to deserving high-school seniors in Waltham and other Massachusetts communities based on scholastic excellence, community service, extra-curricular activities and in some instances, Italian heritage and/or proficiency in the Italian language.
The Festa drew approximately 6,000 attendees last year who perused the wares of over 75 vendors/crafters and who tasted the scrumptious fare of over 25 food vendors. The presence of Ducati and Fiat vehicles added to the excitement and Italian atmosphere.
There will again be rides for all ages (a number of new ones will be added), games, music, dancing, concessions and fun for the whole family. Free entertainment will be provided to the Festa-goers for the entire day. This year’s line-up of entertainers promises to be spectacular with performances by entertainer Frank Zarba, DJ Ross Zagami, Amici della Musica Italiana, the Northeast Drum and Bugle Corps, winners from the Waltham Boys and Girls “Idol” competition, the Senior Tones, Chefs Dino and Sonia Parravano and “Elvis” and “The Little Bopper”, to name a few.
Mark your calendars. You won’t want to miss this great event. Check out the Festa’s website at www.rmlmixed.org; click on the Festa tab.
There may still be room so crafters and vendors are encouraged to contact Carol Rossi at 508-655-0124 or email@example.com.
