Boston to host North American Debut of Italian film “Briciole Sul Mare”

Critically acclaimed Italian comedy-drama film “Briciole Sul Mare” will make its North American debut in 12 cities across the U.S. and Canada throughout the month of October, beginning at Boston’s historic Faneuil Hall on October 9.

The movie premiere is part of a larger event, dubbed Rocambolesco-Spectaculare! An Evening Celebration of Joy, Family and Tradition!, which also features world-class performances from recording artists such as The Platters and culinary treats from celebrity chefs and TV personalities “The Princess of Prince Street” Dana Gallo Strayton and Mike Fucci.

The Platters will highlight music galas following the premiere screenings of Briciole Sul Mare, performing some of their classic hits (Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, Only You, Great Pretender, My Prayer, etc.). In addition to performances by The Platters, Italian recording artist and Briciole film star Walter Nestola with Paola Gruppuso (from Italy’s RAI-TV’s The Voice) will perform their songs from the official motion picture soundtrack, and North America will get a taste of Italy’s hottest new musical recording artists, including an introduction to rising star Amato Scarpellino.

The 12-city tour will kick off Oct. 9 at Boston’s historic Faneuil Hall and will run through Oct. 24. It also
