Winthrop’s Cafe Rossetti’s: Where People Meet to Eat

Tucked away in a seaside town, you can find a teeny tiny family owned restaurant that is worth the trek outside of the city. Located just north of Boston, Winthrop is home to Cafe Rossetti’s and has rightly claimed to be “Where People Meet to Eat”.

Brothers Bobby and Steven Rossetti set out to make each and every customer feel like family, and have been doing so every night for over a decade. Seating just over 30, Cafe Rossetti’s has an old-school feel that locavores love. Everyone sits elbow-to-elbow making entree-envy practically unavoidable. The waitstaff are passionate about the restaurant and the dishes they serve each day, making you feel like you’re dining at the kitchen table of a friend or relative.

Recently recognized by Travel and Leisure Magazine as one of the Top 100 BYO restaurants in America, Cafe Rossetti’s pairs great food at affordable prices with the freedom to bring your favorite bottle of wine. If you are in the mood for a traditional Italian meal, bring a great Chianti and dive into the Chicken cacciatore ($18.95) that is big enough to feed you for days.

One of the favorites at Cafe Rossetti’s is the pork chops with vinegar peppers and potatoes ($18.95). A classic we are all used to having at home, the Rossetti version features a special vinegar pepper sauce that bundles both bite and sweetness. An absolute go-to for me is the chicken saltimbocca ($18.95), especially with al dente ziti. The pasta picks up the white wine sauce with the perfect combination of parma prosciutto, fresh mozzarella and mushrooms.

After so many years of keeping patrons happy in their small shop, the Rossetti brothers expanded to a beautiful location in downtown Lynn. Double the capacity of the Winthrop location, the new restaurant in Lynn seats over 60 and boasts a function room. The whole family is dedicated to the new location, Bobby’s son Chris came on board to run the front of the house and bring his expertise and passion to bear on making every meal a memory.
