UMM Plans Tour of Italy and Greece in Spring 2013

The University of Maine at Machias has announced that it will offer a ten-day excursion to Italy in the spring of 2013 for both UMM students and interested community members.

English Professor Gerard NeCastro is organizing the tour, which will run during Spring Break of 2013 and will include stops in Rome, Florence, Delpi, and Athens as well as possible excursions to Capri and Pompeii. Those wishing to take the tour for college credit can do so as well.

Two information and planning meetings are scheduled: the first on Thursday, December 8, at 7 p.m. in the Portside room of Kimball Hall; the second on Saturday, December 10, at 5:30 p.m., also in Portside. Interested travelers need only to attend one of the two meetings.

NeCastro notes that true Greek and Italian enthusiasts may also take his Greek and Italian Literature course, which will be offered in the fall semester of 2012.

For travel details, costs, and other information, please contact Gerard NeCastro at 255-1293 or necastro@maine.edu.
