BOSTON, MA (August 2016) – Rarely seen, exquisite Renaissance manuscripts and early printed books make this a once-in-a-lifetime exhibition. Beyond Words: Italian Renaissance Books showcases over 65 Renaissance paintings hidden between the covers of rare books in Boston’s libraries and museums. First Italian American bookstore in United States opens in North End

The country’s first Italian American bookstore officially opened its doors on Oct. 29. Located at 189 North St., in Boston’s North End neighborhood, I AM Books holds Italian and Italian American literature, magazines, games, toys and many more gift items. “When you walk into I AM Books, you might have a certain idea of Italy or of your Italian roots,” says co-owner Nicola Orichuia. “We’d like you to walk out with ten or twenty new ideas and a whole new perspective.” For co-owner Jim Pinzino, whose family hailed from Sicily, the store will give others the chance to live an ...
