OSIA Holds Grand Lodge Of Massachusetts’ 101st State Convention

The Order Sons of Italy in America hosted The Grand Lodge of Massachusetts’ 101st State Convention from June 11 to June 14. This year, the annual convention took place at the Resort and Conference Center in Hyannis, Massachusetts. Many attended the event, including the organization’s newly elected officers. Among the officials was new State President Antonio Sestito. Two outstanding, committed members were awarded at the convention. Delia Bartucca and Mario Lucciola were awarded the Golden Lions Award, which is the highest honor a member can receive. The day after Boston’s first Italian-American mayor, Thomas M. Menino, passed away, the Boston Herald ran a full-page photo with the headline: “I know this city. I love this city.” The outpouring of love that Boston showed for Menino in the days after his death on Oct. 30 was equal to the love and devotion that the former mayor had for all of Boston.
