Pirandello Announces 2016 “Migliori” Recipients

Rosario Cascio, president of the Pirandello Lyceum, has announced the 2016 recipients of the Pirandello Lyceum’s prestigious ‘I Migliori in Mens et Gesta” award, the “Best in Mind and Deed.” The Board of Governors has recognized a group of outstanding Americans of Italian descent who have made important contributions to their profession, to society and to the Italian-American community. On March 28, the Pirandello Lyceum held its annual I Migliori in Mens et Gesta Awards at East Boston’s Hyatt Harborside Hotel. The event marked the 30th anniversary of the organization’s annual gala. This year’s honorees included Josephine Cuzzi, who served as executive director of the East Boston YMCA from 2006-2014, expanding the child and adult care food and summer programs, and State Senator Sal DiDomenico, who has been representing the Middlesex and Suffolk Districts since May 2010 after serving four terms on the Everett City Council. Pirandello Lyceum Boston I Migliori Awards

The Pirandello Lyceum held its 28th annual I Migliori in Mens et Gesta awards gala at Boston’s Harborside Hotel on April 6. Recognizing several outstanding Americans of Italian descent, the event also raised money to fund a number of $1,500 scholarships to college-bound students. This year’s awardees included jazz musician and educator Sabato “Tino” D’Agostino, who is also instrumental director at Arlington High School and founder of the Musica Vesuviana festival in Salerno; Governor’s Councilor Marilyn Petitto Devaney, the first Italian-American woman elected to the position and a former Watertown Councilor-at-large; real estate investor Frank Pasciuto, who among other things ...
