Feast of Three Saints – St. Alfio Society Festival

The 88th Annual Feast of the Three Saints – a tradition of the St. Alfio Society in Lawrence – will be held Labor Day Weekend, Sept 2-4, on Common & Union Streets in Lawrence. The weekend offers free entertainment for the whole family including free admission and free parking.

Each year, the Feast offers Italian food, amusements, kids’ carnival rides (provided by North American Amusements), games, processions, raffles and free musical performances.

The festivities will begin Friday evening at 6:30 pm at the Lawrence City Hall with the Feast Procession to Corpus Christi Parish at the Holy Rosary Church. The popular Italian tenor Aaron Caruso is slated to croon well-loved Italian songs Friday evening at 8:30pm at the Main Bandstand while Beatlejuice, a Beatles impersonation group, will perform on the Tripoli Stage.

Saturday night at 9:00pm, Afterburner, the US Airforce Band, takes the Main Bandstand with an explosive blend of classic rock, pop and R&B music, while the Souled Out Show Band – one of the most popular cover bands in the area – takes over the Tripoli Stage.

The Festival ends on Sunday with a 10:00am solemn mass at Holy Rosary Church followed in the afternoon with a 3:00pm procession and continued musical performances including Ski & the 99ers, a local favorite, playing on the Tripoli State at 7:30.

The celebrated Saints are Alfio, Filadelfo and Cirino who were all martyrs. Each year, the St. Alfio Society raises funds for scholarships and to provide aid to other non-profit organizations in Greater Lawrence.
